Baptism

If you have made the choice to give Jesus Christ  control of your life, the next step is baptism. Baptism is not a requirement for salvation, but rather an outward sign of an inward commitment to trust Christ alone for salvation. Jesus himself commanded his followers in Matthew 28:19 to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

At BTOP we do baptism through immersion, or in other words we dunk you in a shallow pool of water. In Romans 6:1–11, the apostle Paul describes Baptism by immersion as a means through which the believer identifies with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ: Going under the water represents Christ’s death—and a believer's death to sin; coming out of the water illustrates His resurrection and the believer's new life in Christ.

So the question becomes “Am I ready for baptism?” The Bible says that as soon as you accept Christ you should proclaim the life change that has occurred. Baptism is your chance to publicly proclaim your decision to follow Christ.

If you have come to this point in your spiritual journey, then you are ready to be baptized. Let us know. We’re excited to celebrate with you and share your new found faith with the rest of your church family.
